New Report Details Chicago’s Record As A ‘Welcoming City’ For Immigrants
Earlier this week, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs published our new report, “A Global Welcome: Metro Chicago’s Approach to Immigrant Inclusion.” My co-author, Rob Paral, and I, along with Rebecca Shi and Erendira Rendon, appeared this week on WBEZ 91.5 FM Chicago’s NPR News Station, on the show WBEZ Reset, to discuss the report’s findings and recommendations.
From WBEZ 91.5 Chicago:
“A new report from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs explores the city’s approach to immigrant inclusion and whether it’s policies truly create a welcoming city for all. Reset brings on the authors of the report and two local advocacy groups to discuss the challenges Chicago-area immigrants face today, and how the city is responding. GUESTS: Rebecca Shi, executive director of the American Business Immigration Coalition; Erendira Rendon, vice president of immigration advocacy and defense at The Resurrection Project; Rob Paral, non-resident fellow in the Global Cities program at Chicago Council on Global Affairs; Paul McDaniel, associate professor of geography at Kennesaw State University.”
